Mural Magic was a temporary exhibit of murals created for the 2023 Philadelphia Flower Show at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Curated by Conrad Benner of Streets Dept Walls, the 2023 exhibit celebrates the work of four Philadelphia-based muralists: Donna Grace Kroh, Michele Scott, irregular, and Wet. Playing off of the idea that Philadelphia is “The Mural Capital of The World,” Mural Magic celebrates this feature that makes the city magical.
To the Polls was a temporary exhibit hosted by Mural Arts Philadelphia and Streets Dept Walls in LOVE Park on public view October 25-November 4, 2022. Six 8×12-foot geometric panels held the work of De’von Downes, Donna Grace Kroh, Frank Chappell III, John Zerbe, Natalie Hope McDonald, and Rachael Reyes-Vazquez, six artists’ ideas, interpretations, and wishes about a straightforward directive: go vote. Against the backdrop of Philadelphia City Hall, these temporary murals act as a reminder of the direct result of civic engagement – we choose who represents us. The art, bold and colorful against the looming, stately gray of the building, hold power: the power of voting, the power of the people, the power to ignite change.
Mural Arts Philadelphia participated in the Live and Learn pilot project in Sharswood by creating the Run the Road mural, which was completed in June 2025. This combined wall and ground mural, part of Live and Learn’s playful learning initiative, aims to highlight navigation and traffic safety, including I-Spy elements and sidewalk tracks of animal footprints on a newly developed affordable housing building. Donna Grace Kroh worked closely with community partners and the Live and Learn team to design and install this interactive mural for neighborhood families. In the afternoon, there was a block party at the building with the mural. Kroh led art activities with coloring pages related to the mural and handed out magnifying glasses so children could find shapes and figures in their daily surroundings. Kids enthusiastically followed the animal footprint tracks of the mural by mimicking them and enjoyed coloring at the art station.
